FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes the following stages: (1) carrying out redox reaction between initial gaseous H2S and oxygen, contained in oxygen-enriched air to obtain SO2, with control of residual oxygen after stage of redox reaction in molar concentration ≥2%; (2) cooling product, obtained at stage (1) to temperature 390-430°C, with further realisation of reaction of catalytic oxidation with oxygen. Reaction of catalytic oxidation is realised step-by-step, until degree of SO2 conversion constitutes ≥98.7% or until SO2% concentration at output constitutes 550 mg/m3 under normal conditions; and (3) cooling product, obtained at stage (2), to temperature ≥10°C higher than temperature of H2SO4 vapour condensation point, with further cooling to temperature 60-120°C, collection of obtained H2SO4 and realisation of coalescing separation of gas, obtained after cooling, immediately before its release into atmosphere.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to provide high efficiency of hydrogen sulphide removal.
