FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: X-ray examination of the patient suffering discontinuous dental arch. A value C of periodontal supporting tissue atrophy is determined by formula: C=100-(L1 X 100)/L, wherein L is an overall length of root measured in a coronary window of a multi-plane image restoration of a retainer tooth with specifying a section, wherein a root length, or a medial root length for multi-rooted teeth, is maximum; to this end, points on an enamel-cement border are connected by means of using a Length measuring instrument; a distance of interest to an apex point of the root is measured from the point found in the middle of the produced line; L1 is an effective length of the root measuring by the above Length measuring instrument in the same mode from the apex of the root to a point of intersection of a segment of the line connecting apex points of closing cortical plates and the line L describing the overall length of the root. If the value C of periodontal supporting tissue atrophy within the retainer teeth is less than 25%, a working periodontal area is stated sufficient to preserve the teeth expected to be retainers stable, i.e. the masticatory efficiency occurs to be preserved. If the value C of periodontal supporting tissue atrophy is more than 25%, the working periodontium is stated to decrease by 55%. An integral rate of the masticatory efficiency of the expected retainer teeth is determined by using reduction factors of the masticatory efficiency, which are determined by multiplying the periodontal value N within the above intact tooth by the respective rates of the masticatory efficiency of the teeth from Table 2.
EFFECT: by more accurate determination of the masticatory efficiency of the retainer periodontium, the method enables preventing complications related to overload of the periodontal supporting tissues accompanying a prosthetic repair procedure.
