SUBSTANCE: user equipment is serviced by a base station on a cellular communication network. The user equipment receives a first message from the base station. The first message contains a first SR resource assignment. The first message is received using a first protocol. The first SR resource assignment is semi-static. The user equipment additionally receives a second message from the base station. The second message contains a second SR resource assignment. The second message is received using a second protocol. The second protocol is associated with a level which is lower than a level associated with the first protocol. The user equipment then applies SR resources in accordance with the first assignment and SR resources in accordance with the second assignment simultaneously or separately.
EFFECT: providing a way of improving efficiency of processing scheduling request (SR) resources.
