FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: substrate for an optical system is provided with a thin-structure layer, which includes points consisting of a plurality of convex and concave portions running in the direction from the main surface of the substrate to the outside of the surface. The thin-structure layer has a plurality of dotted lines, wherein the plurality of points are arranged with spacing Py in a first direction on the main surface of the substrate, while also having a plurality of dotted lines, wherein the plurality of points are arranged with spacing Px in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction on the main surface of the substrate, one of the spacing Py and Px is a constant interval in the nanometre range, while the other is a varying interval in the nanometre range, or both are varying intervals in the nanometre range.
EFFECT: invention increases relative luminosity of a LED while simultaneously increasing internal quantum efficiency (IQE) by reducing the number of dislocation defects in the semiconductor layer.
