SUBSTANCE: method includes dividing video content into fragments. An assembling system removes fragments to be rejected and merges the left fragments into new video content. In the method, the duration of fragments at each subsequent editing step is reduced compared to the duration of the fragment at the previous step, for which the coefficient of reducing the length of fragments at each subsequent editing step is in the range of 0.3-0.95. In the method, if the length of part of the fragment obtained by breaking the latter into the accepted number of parts, is less than the minimum duration of the assembled frame, the initial number of parts into which the fragment is divided is reduced by one and said procedure is repeated until the length of part of the fragment is not less than the minimum length of the assembled frame, or the accepted number of parts into which the fragment can be divided is equal to 1.
