METHOD OF PRODUCING POLYURETHANE FOAM AND OBTAINED POLYURETHANE FOAM Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC C08G18/42 C08G18/66 C08J9/12

Abstract RU 2566502 C9

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing polyurethane foam, which includes the following consecutive steps: providing a mixture in a mixing head, wherein the mixture includes: A) a polyol capable of reacting with isocyanates; B) a detergent component (surfactant); C) a foaming agent selected from a group comprising linear, branched or cyclic alkanes with 1-6 carbon atoms, linear, branched or cyclic fluoroalkanes with 1-6 carbon atoms, N2, O2, argon and/or CO2, wherein the foaming agent C) is in supercritical or near-critical state and in the form of a microemulsion in polyol; D) a polyisocyanate component; removing the mixture, comprising components A), B), C) and D), from the mixing head. After mixing the components A), B), C) and D), pressure ranges from ≥73.7 bar to ≤300 bar, and when removing the mixture, pressure is lowered to atmospheric pressure. The content of the foaming agent in the reaction mixture comprising components A), B), C) and D) ranges from ≥3 wt % to ≤60 wt %. Temperature ranges from ≥20°C to ≤80°C. The weight ratio of the detergent component B) in the mixture comprising components A), B), C) and D) ranges from ≥0.05 to ≤0.3. The invention relates to polyurethane foam with average pore diameter of ≥10 nm to ≤10000 nm.

EFFECT: obtaining polyurethane foam with bimodal cell size distribution using a supercritical foaming agent to obtain a small cell size.
