METHOD OF ASSESSMENT OF BIOCOMPATIBILITY OF SCAFFOLDS Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC G09B23/28 A61B8/06

Abstract RU 2571232 C1

FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: subcutaneous implantation of the scaffold is carried out in the interscapular region of a rat. At that prior to implantation of the scaffold laser doppler flowmetry (LDF) of microcirculation is carried out in the rat as an instrumental study, determining the indicator of perfusion. Using the spectral wavelet analysis, the normalised amplitudes of the endothelial, neurogenic and myogenic oscillations microcirculation, the results obtained are accepted as the baseline. The scaffold is implanted in the form of a disc with a diameter of about 15 mm, the thickness of about 0.1 mm. Then, three times on the 7th, 14th, 21st day after implantation the LDF of microcirculation of the skin is performed over the area of implantation with determining of the said indicators. The results are analysed, comparing them with the values of the baseline. The scaffold is considered biocompatible if the increase in the perfusion value is accompanied by a shift of the normalised amplitudes of neurogenic and myogenic blood flow oscillations on the 7th day after implantation, and the values of the normalised amplitudes are fully normalised by the 14th day, and the full restoration of the perfusion value is observed by the 21st day after implantation.

EFFECT: method provides a dynamic assessment of biocompatibility of scaffolds in the experiment using a small number of laboratory animals.
