FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: photomultiplier tube is a hybrid assembly of a multielement device comprising an input optical window, a diamond photocathode, dynodes and an anode. A multialkali photocathode film with a nanosize thickness is situated on the output surface of the optical window, the surface of the diamond photocathode is nano(micro)-structured and weakly doped with acceptors, the surface of the dynodes is nano(micro)-structured and coated with a diamond film, which is weakly doped with acceptors.

EFFECT: wider long-wave region of the range of spectral sensitivity to electromagnetic radiation, high current sensitivity and quantum efficiency.
