FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalytic decomposition of nitrogen oxide and to the use thereof to remove nitrogen oxide from gas mixtures, especially for removing emissions of nitric acid and adipic acid production plants. The catalyst contains mixed oxides of cobalt, manganese and rare-earth metals and has a composition, expressed in mass percentages of Co, MnO and a transition metal oxide in the lowest valence state: MnO 38-56%, CoO 22-30%, rare-earth metal oxide 22-32%.
EFFECT: invention provides efficient decomposition of nitrogen oxide.
