FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing a mixture of aqueous solutions of zirconium and lithium nitrates, dehydration, annealing and grinding the obtained product, where zirconium (IV) hydroxide carbonate of formula Zr(OH)2CO3·5.5H2O is first mixed with nitric acid in excess of 0.04-0.06 mole compared to the stoichiometrically required amount for neutralising zirconium (IV) hydroxide carbonate, annealing is carried out by evaporation at temperature 140-150°C, first until achieving ratio of the initial volume of the mixture to the evaporated volume equal to 2:1, and then in the presence of citric acid, and the annealing process is carried out in four steps: first at temperature 280-300°C, then at temperature 400-420°C, then at temperature 600-620°C, after which the product is ground and then annealed at temperature 760-780°C.
EFFECT: compared to existing techniques, the method is simple and does not require use of toxic reagents.
