FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: in order to obtain metatitanic acid, titanium dioxide reacts with lithium nitrate in aqueous solution. The reaction is carried out in the presence of citric and nitric acid, followed by three-step annealing of the obtained lithium titanate at temperature 280-300°C, 400-420°C and 470-490°C, respectively. Treatment with acetic acid is carried out and the product is filtered, washed with distilled water and dried. The metatitanic acid H2TiO3 obtained can be used as a sorbent for extracting actinide elements.
EFFECT: invention simplifies production of metatitanic acid.
