FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel benzodithiophene polymer, a method for production thereof, to a polymer mixture and a composition, used as semiconductors in organic electronic devices, to the use of the polymer and to an optical, electrooptical or electronic component or device. The benzodithiophene polymer has the formula . A method of producing the polymer includes polymerisation of initial monomers. The polymer mixture includes said polymer and a polymer having semiconductor properties, charge transfer properties, hole/electron transfer properties, hole/electron blocking properties, electroconductivity, photoconductivity or light emission. The composition includes said polymer or a polymer mixture and a solvent, preferably an organic solvent. The polymer is used as a charge carrier, semiconductor, electroconductive, photoconductive or light-emitting substance. An optical, electrooptical or electronic component or device includes said polymer, polymer mixture or composition.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a benzodithiophene polymer, having good processability, improved film-forming properties, electronic properties, particularly high charge carrier mobility, and improves efficiency of organic electronic devices.
