SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. A method of coding video data comprises coding, for a bitstream, information representing which of a plurality of video coding dimensions are enabled for the bitstream, wherein said information indicates that at least one of the plurality of video coding dimensions is not enabled; and coding values for syntax elements representing the enabled video coding dimensions, without coding values for syntax elements representing the video coding dimensions that are not enabled, including without coding said at least one of the plurality of video coding dimensions, in a NAL unit header comprising video data coded according to said values for each of the enabled video coding dimensions.
EFFECT: high efficiency of coding a network abstraction layer (NAL) unit header.
