SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to filler for animal toilets and, in particular, to molded filler for animal toilets having a high rate of adsorption. First version of the filler comprises particles comprising one or more types of clay, and one or more types of starch, wherein the particle has an expanded mesh structure. Mesh structure comprises internal cells which are less dense than clay(s) separately; a film comprising surface cells which have a relatively closed structure and less permeable than the inner cells; a fragmented surface region which is substantially free of the film and opens the inner cells. Second version of the filler comprises a combination of particles of the first filler and other material capable of functioning as filler for animal toilets. Method of producing filler for animal toilets comprises formation of a mixture containing one or more types of clay and one or more types of starch; expansion of the mixture to form particles having extended cellular mesh with inner cells, which are more dense than clay(s) separately; and a film containing surface cells which have a relatively closed structure and less permeable than inner cells; fragmented particles to open the inner cells.
