FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas compressor units (GCU) based on gas turbine engine. To achieve technical result, method is disclosed for laser ignition of fuel in internal combustion engine, which includes supply of a focused laser beam in ignition chamber containing fuel-air mix and formed by walls of cylinder and piston, laser beam performs scanning in two planes. Also disclosed is a method for operation of laser ignition plug. Disclosed also is laser ignition of fuel-air mixture in internal combustion engine comprises a laser plug with metal casing, installed inside insulator and optical fibre passing along axis of plug inside insulator with focusing lens on a working end of optical fibre and connected with pumping unit, optical fibre is made with possibility of them together with focusing lens oscillatory movement inside insulator in two planes to provide a scanning movement of laser beam.

EFFECT: improving power performance of gas turbine engine, used as drive on natural gas and reduced emission of hazardous substances.
