FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: control unit for AC rotating machine comprises current vector detecting unit (3), magnetic flux vector detecting unit (9), adaptive observer unit (8), control unit (4), voltage supply unit (5), unit (6) computing deviation vector for displaying current vector deviation and magnetic flux vector deviation and deviation amplifying unit (7). Adaptive observer unit (8) computes estimated vector of current, estimated vector of magnetic flux and estimated position based on vector of control command and amplified vector of deviation. Control unit (4) imposes high-frequency voltage vector. Magnetic flux vector detecting unit (9) computes detected vector of magnetic flux based on the value of high-frequency current vector having the same frequency component as vector of high-frequency voltage, which is included into the detected current vector, and the value of rotor magnetic flux.

EFFECT: smooth excitation is provided within the range from low speed area up to high speed area.
