SUBSTANCE: invention relates to displaying a caller identifier on a called subscriber device. The method comprises accessing a database which defines a list of sources associated to the recipient device and checking whether the source is associated with the recipient device on an external list. If so, the created source identifier is displayed, otherwise privacy settings of the source are determined and an additional identifier is displayed according to said privacy settings in the recipient device. The location of the source is determined by accessing a location based service (LBS), which accesses a database of registered users and determines the number of registered LBS users closest to the location of the source.
EFFECT: providing assistance to a user in an emergency situation due to that when a user calls a predetermined emergency service number, a location based service (LBS) supports determining a user registered in the system, who is closest to the caller, so that the caller can be directed to said subscriber.
