FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine. Phaco tip comprises a rod and a cutting edge section, which has at least first and second curves. Tip geometry is configured to provide a lateral displacement perpendicular to the rod accompanying ultrasonic torsion oscillations of the tip at frequencies from 10 kHz to 60 kHz. The lateral displacement perpendicular to the rod by less than 5-25% (e.g. 15%) of a lateral displacement in a distal end point of the tip throughout the rod section extending from a cone-shaped section of the tip to the first curve at the cutting edge section of the tip. The tip geometry is described by means of a software application and/or physical modelling techniques.
EFFECT: structural improvement.
