FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for vacuum application of a hardening coating on the surface of articles. Said device comprises an ion-plasma sputtering system, a device for moving articles and a high-current pulsed ion accelerator for treating the surface of articles with a high-current pulsed ion beam with energy density of 0.5–5 J/cm2. High-current pulsed ion accelerator comprises a pulse voltage generator and a vacuum chamber, in the first part of which there is an ion diode. Opposite the ion diode there is a metal screen in the form of a disc with a central hole with flaps. Dimensions of the central hole are larger than the dimensions of the ionic diode. Second part of the vacuum chamber for coating application, which is located opposite to the first part, is made with double walls, the space between which is filled with water and is connected through nipples to the water cooling system. Inside the second part of the vacuum chamber there is said device for moving articles from the first part of the vacuum chamber for treating articles with said high-current pulse ion accelerator into the second part of the vacuum chamber for application of the coating by means of the above ion-plasma sputtering system mounted on the side flange of the second part of the vacuum chamber.
EFFECT: device for vacuum application of hardening coating is provided, which allows to increase efficiency and reduce labour intensity and power consumption of surface treatment and application of protective and functional coatings on structural items.
