SUBSTANCE: invention relates to histology. The method comprises culturing at least one mature epithelial stem cell from the liver or bile duct fragment in contact with an extracellular matrix in the presence of a medium. The medium comprises a basal medium for animal or human cells to which added are: an epidermal growth factor (EGF), a Wnt agonist, a fibroblast growth factor (FGF) and nicotinamide. Corresponding culture media are described. Also described is a liver organoid and the use thereof in screening new medicinal drugs or toxicity analysis, as well as in various researches, for producing medicinal drugs for liver treatment and in regenerative medicine.
EFFECT: method of producing liver organoid is disclosed.
