SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image processing techniques. Disclosed is an automated, computerised method for image processing. Method includes a step of providing an image file, which is an image in computer memory. Further, method includes generating a set of internal images corresponding to said image, wherein said set of internal images includes image material and image illumination. Each image of material and image illumination is expressed as a separate multi-strip representation for one of material or illumination regardless of other of material or illumination, each strip corresponds to segment of electromagnetic spectrum.
EFFECT: high efficiency of compressing images owing to independent image compression material and image illumination.
