FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of controlling exhaust gas emissions during engine operation. Disclosed is a method of detecting hydrocarbon suction in engine based on simultaneous monitoring of instability in operation and increased heat emission of exhaust gases. Data on acceleration of crankshaft is monitored at stable and in transition conditions of engine operation, while temperature of exhaust gases are evaluated in conditions without regeneration of a neutraliser. To reduce further suction of hydrocarbons number of turns and engine load are limited.
EFFECT: technical result is reduced instability of cylinders and retarded deterioration of engine operation.
