A lateral shin excision guide applicable for a knee surgery comprises a lateral shin excision guide body, blade and lateral shin excision guide member. The blade is connected to the lateral shin excision guide body. The blade comprises a substantially flat surface configured mountable on a substantially flat excision performed on a medial shin. The lateral shin excision guide member is connected to the lateral shin excision guide body. The lateral shin excision guide member has a substantially flat guide surface of the lateral shin excision. The guide surface of the lateral shin excision is configured to guide a cutting or grinding instrument in order to perform the lateral shin excision attached to the medial shin excision. A shin plateau excision guide assembly comprises the above excision guide and an elongated flag pin applicable to position the excision guide in relation to a proximal shin. The flag pin extends along a long axis and has an enlarged head portion. The excision guide has an opening to receive at least a part of the enlarged head portion; when the enlarged head portion is buried into the above opening of the excision guide, the excision guide is unable to turn about the long axis of the flag pin.

EFFECT: inventions provide the more accurate preparation of the femurs and shin for grafting with preserving both cruciate ligaments.
