FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine. A tibial support plate for preserving both crucial ligaments comprises a medial arm of the support plate, a lateral arm of the support plate and a bridge connecting the medial and lateral arms of the support plate. Between the medial arm of the support plate and the lateral arm of the above support plate, there is a gap sized and positioned so that it comprises a tibial prominence including an attachment section of an anterior cruciate ligament and an attachment section of a posterior cruciate ligament. The tibial support plate comprises at least one opening so that a perforating or cutting instrument can penetrate through the tibial support plate into bone stock of a proximal portion of the tibia.
EFFECT: invention provides the functional preservation of the cruciate ligaments of young and active patients in need of knee joint replacement so as to preserve natural sensations, normal biomechanical functions, as well as knee joint effectiveness after the knee joint replacement.
