FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermal engines, specifically to free-piston internal combustion engines. Proposed engine comprises piston arranged in cylinder, one end interacts with combustion chamber, and other with damping chamber, valve system and device to feed fuel into combustion chamber. Withdrawal of mechanical energy, acquired from thermal energy of burnt fuel is performed in a damping chamber by means of additional piston articulated with crank, torque generator of electric energy.
EFFECT: invention provides more complete use of expansion of combustible mixture, as well as higher efficiency of fuel.
