FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to road transport, namely to its power plants, and can be used for installation both for large-capacity trucks and for buses. Power plant contains free-piston engine with horizontal arrangement of working cylinder and with crank-piston power take-off mechanism located outside working cylinder. Crank-piston mechanism is connected to engine damper chamber by two-link pipeline, with articulated links and possibility of swinging movements. Working cylinder of engine is laid on sliding supports with possibility of supplying compressed air between contacting surfaces.
EFFECT: invention provides simplification of automotive power plant, as well as increase of its fuel efficiency.
