FIELD: electronic equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of cathode-grid assembly (CGA) with auto-emission cathodes from carbon material for vacuum electronic devices with micro second readiness time. Cathode-grid assembly includes auto-emission cathode of monolithic carbon material with matrix of micro-tips on its working surface, forming and pull grids, separated by dielectric layer and forming cells of "sandwich mesh" above matrix of micro-tips. Forming grid is partially immersed in body of cathode, and height of projecting part of forming grid is over surface of micro-tips h, diameters of "sandwich-grid" cells holes d and full height of "sandwich-grid" H, containing height of projecting part h of forming grid, thickness of dielectric films and pulling grid are linked by relationships h<d/5, d≈2×H.

EFFECT: reduced spread of electronic trajectories in plane of CGA pulling grid and reduction of cathode current sedimentation onto pulling grid jumpers.
