FIELD: means of protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of hydraulic structures from ice pressure. Method involves periodic discharge of gas mixture portions into lower layers water basin, and the gas mixture used is hydrocarbon compounds with an oxidising agent, for example, methane, propane, acetylene, atomized oil products, together with oxygen or gas containing, for example air. Mixture of gases in lower layers water is discharged through elastic shell made from high-pressure polyethylene, which are output into the lower layers of water through holes with diameter of carved 0.5-1 m and are arranged in longitudinal and transverse planes in the lower layers of the water basin by means of the glider, controlled by a hydroacoustic communication channel.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of the method of ice breaking.
