FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation, specifically to devices for liquid level detection in various media, including in aggressive media, used both in normal conditions and at high temperatures and pressure. Ultrasonic liquid level indicator comprises an emitter and receiver of ultrasound. Electric circuit includes pulse generator, amplifier and detector. Emitter and receiver are in form of parallel to each other pairs of waveguide plates forming a controlled volume. Each plate is connected to ultrasonic transducer by waveguide communication line. Indicator of fluid in one housing may comprise two or more sets of emitters and receivers connected with transducers of waveguide communication lines, which form multiple controlled volumes. In disclosed device radiation of ultrasound in controlled medium and reception thereof is carried out with wave-guide plates made of material resistant to external effects (temperature, pressure), for example from steel, and less resistant transducers lie in zone not exposed to extreme effects.

EFFECT: high reliability of operation of signalling device during operation in wide temperature range, at high pressure, simple and high strength, high manufacturability and reliability of device during prolonged operation.
