FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of remote analysis of sea water areas and can be used for determination of contamination of sea surface. Essence: along paths, containing test sections remote probing of sea surface is performed with autodyne radio wave meter mounted on aircraft carrier. Is frequency detection of meter signal is carried out. Database of reference signals of wind waves on the surface is created in the form of their autocorrelation functions. Video of sections along the route of flight by coaxially installed digital video camera of high spatial resolution is received simultaneously. Video frames are attached to topographic coordinates by means of a GPS navigator. Spatial spectrum of waves is recovered by Fourier transform images of video frames. Mutual correlation function of autodyne signal meter and video camera is calculated. Index of contamination of areas is calculated through the ratio of width of mutual correlation function to width of reference autocorrelation function at the level of 0.1 from their maximum value. Data array of said ratios is formed. Isoline circuits of contamination index are specified by methods of spatial differentiation and applied on a contour map of coastal or offshore zone.

EFFECT: reliable determination of contaminated areas of sea surface.
