FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to means of monitoring pre-fire situations arising as the result of local overheatings of electrical equipment, and is intended for warning fires arising from faults in electric wiring, in particular faults in wiring devices. System consists of a gas sensor connected with a recorder, which is connected to a signalling system, and a polymer composite material applied on liable to heating sections of the electric circuit having the opening temperature within the range of 80-200 °C and containing a low-boiling substance inside easily detected by the gas sensor.

EFFECT: technical result is higher probability of detecting pre-fire situation at early stage.
