FIELD: electrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for fragmentation and/or weakening of material by means of high-voltage pulses, electrode and device for implementing method for fragmentation and/or weakening of material by means of high-voltage pulses and use of electrode or device for fragmentation and/or weakening of stone material or ore. Method consist in that material and process liquid are placed in process zone formed between two electrodes so that entire process zone is filled with process liquid, wherein high-voltage pulses are fed to electrodes so that between two electrodes there is high-voltage breakdown and/or prebreakdown channels are formed without breakdowns. For at least one of both electrodes, electrode with metal conductor is selected, which is in contact with process liquid and is equipped with at working end of electrode partially or completely with insulation or insulating coating, having permittivity of at least 75 % of permittivity of process liquid. Electrode is characterised by that first insulation or insulating coating has permittivity higher than 50, in particular, higher than 80. Device comprises two electrodes, at least one of which is made in accordance with above.
EFFECT: group of inventions improves energy efficiency of fragmentation and/or attenuation of such materials as stone material or ore.
