FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used for applying surgical clips to vessels, ducts, for applying shunts. Surgical clip applier includes a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end. Distal end of the shaft has opposed jaws. Guide member disposed within the shaft, configured to guide a clip into the opposed jaws. Guide member having a channel formed in a surface thereof. Advancer movably disposed within the shaft and configured to advance a clip over the guide member and into the opposed jaws. Advancer has a distal tip that slidably engages the channel for maintaining contact with a surgical clip as it is advanced into the opposed jaws.
EFFECT: as a result a clip is correctly supplied to jaws and is not deformed.
