SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for assessment of driver behaviour during driving of vehicles. Method comprises a step of continuously characterising (S1) driver's chosen braking processes as a basis for said assessment. Further, method comprises steps of determining (S2) cause of a chosen braking process and assessing (S3) whether chosen braking process is appropriate response to said cause. Braking process is characterised by auxiliary brakes, service brakes and engine brakes. Present invention also relates to a system for assessment of behaviour of driver during vehicle driving, vehicle, electronic control unit.
EFFECT: optimised fuel consumption without affecting safety.
