FIELD: materials.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to production of polycrystalline material and articles containing said material for protection against damages. Method of polycrystalline material making includes production of granulated precursor structure, containing iron, silicon and carbon or nitrogen source, precursor structure heating, application heated precursor structure layer onto base and precursor structure layer cooling down. Heating of precursor structure is carried out to temperature of at least 1,350 °C. Precursor structure layer is cooled down to less than 1,000 °C to produce polycrystalline material layer, consisting of iron and silicon crystalline phase nano-grains with average size of less than 10 nm and crystalline material grains containing carbon or nitrogen. Tool includes base containing metal of iron group, and polycrystalline material obtained using said method fused therewith.
EFFECT: production of polycrystalline material with high wear resistance and high crack resistance.
