FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to psychiatry, and can be used for assessing severity of a current depressive episode in patients with affective disorders, comorbid with personality disorders. Combined diagnostic criteria of severity of depressive episode and personality disorders are applied in accordance with ICD-10, as well as to SIGH-SAD scale before antidepressant therapy. Scale for assessing an intensity of psychic tension in accordance with Shihan scale, of depression in accordance with Beck's self-estimation scale, of suicidal behavior risk in accordance with questionnaire SBQ-R and of personality disorder signs in accordance with SAPAS. If the total score, which takes into account parameters of all used psychometric scales before antidepressant therapy, is more than 108, current depressive episode is estimated as severe.

EFFECT: method enables higher accuracy and integrity of clinical assessing severity of current depressive episode in case of comorbidity of affective and personality disorders, that enables more accurate determining a prognosis and further complex treatment and rehabilitation, as well as preventive programs in specific clinical cases due to usage of significant diagnostic criteria.
