SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for separation of valuable material from the mixture. Device comprises the first processor configured to obtain a mixture of fluid valuable material, undesirable material and functionalized cell with polymer coating configured to be attached to valuable material in the medium for bonding, and production of enriched functionalized cell with polymer coating having valuable material attached to it; and a second processor configured to obtain fluid and enriched functionalized cell with polymer coating in the medium for release for release of valuable material and obtaining the released valuable material from enriched functionalized cell with polymer coating in the medium enabling release. Valuable material contains mineral particles, and functionalized polymer-coated element comprises surface, coated with hydrophobic silicone polymer. Method of separating involves obtaining in the first processor mixture fluid valuable material and undesirable material and functionalized cell with polymer coating configured to be attached to valuable material in the medium for bonding, and obtaining of the first processor enriched functionalized cell with polymer coating having valuable material attached to it; and obtaining in the second processor fluid and enriched functionalized cell with polymer coating in a medium facilitating release, to release valuable material, and feeding valuable material the released from enriched functionalized cell with polymer coating, in the medium enabling release.
