FIELD: ecology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ecology, specifically peat-land science. Method includes determining linear growth of sprout samples of moss genus Sphagnum and examination thereof on individual markers, from which linear increment of sprouts is measured. Individual markers used are negative geotropic bends of shoots.
EFFECT: method reduces labour input of process associated with obtaining information on linear growth of shoots, improves reliability and accuracy of measurements.
