SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video decoding through mutual prediction. Technical result is achieved by selecting a motion vector corresponding to a reference list of the current block, from a motion vector L0 corresponding to a reference image of a jointly arranged unit determined from a list of L0, and a motion vector L1 corresponding to the reference image of the jointly arranged unit determined from the list L1; and determining, using the selected motion vector, a candidate for predicting the motion vector according to the jointly arranged unit.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of the process of determining the reference image for mutual prediction.
