FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of detecting active fibres, wave direction and wavelength of transmitted signal and input-output of optical radiation through the lateral surface of optical fibre (OF) by means of bending and can be used for input (output) of optical signal in OF in systems of monitoring of fibre-optic lines (FOL) and multiplexers of signals input-output (OADM). Method of input/output of radiation through the lateral surface of bent optical fibre consisting in that optical fiber is placed in first roller slot with specified radius, second roller, identical to the first one, is used, in slot of which the same optical fibre is placed and fixed at input and output of the device; then fibre is bent around rollers to a preset initial angle for radiation output through the lateral surface and pressed to first and second optical elements with specified refraction index; then output radiation from bent side surfaces of the fibre is focused at input ends of receiving optic fibers with the help of gradient lenses; radiation is recorded using optical receivers, and input of radiation is performed from optical transmitter, which is connected instead of receiver, on which there is no signal, wherein level of output and input radiation is controlled by variation of angles of fiber bend.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility to combine functions of detecting active fibres, direction of transmission of signals, radiation wavelength and smooth adjustment of input and output radiation.
