CATHETER DEVICE CONTAINING BLOCKS OF SEVERAL ELECTRODES FOR RENAL NEUROMODULATION AND APPROPRIATE SYSTEMS AND METHODS Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B18/14

Abstract RU 2601906 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medical equipment, namely to agents neuromodulation. A catheter apparatus comprises an elongated tubular shaft, having a proximal portion and a distal portion, and therapeutic block located on the distal portion of the elongated shaft and adapted to placement in the target region inside the renal artery of the patient, where therapeutic block includes supporting structure, containing control element with preset spiral shape, where the control element is a tubular structure containing a cavity passing in it and consisting of nitinol multifilament twisted wire. and multiple elements, delivering the energy transferred by the supporting structure, where an elongated tubular shaft and therapeutic block together define a cavity for the wire guide element, designed for receiving at sliding medical wire guide element and where axial displacement of the wire guide element relative to the therapeutic block transforms the supporting structure between (a) low-profile delivery configuration and (b) developed configuration, resulting in preset spiral shape of the control element. System of renal neuromodulation for treating a patient includes multiple electrodes associated with a spiral structure, where an elongated shaft and spiral structure together define a cavity for the wire guide element in them, where the cavity for wire guide element is designed for receiving at slipping of procedural wire guide element for arrangement of spiral structure in the target region treatment in the blood vessel patient's kidney and retention of spiral structure unexpanded configuration and where proximal movement of procedural wire guide element through the cavity for the wire guide element relative to spiral structure so, that the distal end part of the wire guide element at least partially is in the cavity for the wire guide element, transforms the spiral structure to expanded configuration.

EFFECT: using the invention enables reducing side effects and higher clinical effectiveness.
