FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to paediatrics and can be used for determination of tactics of treatment of children with acute infectious mononucleosis. Blood is taken from the patient. If observing herpesvirus DNA and blood serum neopterin level higher than 2.5 nmol/l, antiviral preparations are used as part of the complex therapy.
EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness in children with infectious mononucleosis ensured by the pathogenetically grounded therapeutic approach involving detection of herpesvirus DNA and blood serum neopterin.
