FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: excess vertebral artery is excised. Common carotid-spinal anastomosis is formed. Before starting blood flow, vertebral artery is reinforced spirally. Gaps between 1 and 2 spiral turns is stretched. Vertebral artery is placed in stretched gap. Spiral is then threaded by rotation on artery. Free end of spiral is located at an angle of 30°-45°. Excess end of spiral is then cut off. Blood flow is restored at vertebral and common carotid arteries. Last coil of spiral is fixed to common carotid artery.
EFFECT: method allows to prevent occurrence of repeated crimp of vessel with backset vertebrobasilar insufficiency.
