SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a smoking article having a heat source and an aerosol-forming substrate downstream of heat source. Smoking article comprises a mouth end and a distal end, smoking article comprising a heat source; aerosol-forming substrate arranged downstream of heat source; at least one air inlet downstream of aerosol-forming substrate; and an airflow pathway extending between at least one air inlet and mouth end of smoking article, wherein airflow pathway comprises a first portion, extending longitudinally upstream from at least one air inlet towards aerosol-forming substrate and a second portion extending longitudinally downstream from first portion towards mouth end of smoking article.

EFFECT: technical result is creation of a smoking article with improved air flow.
