FIELD: smoking accessories.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tobacco industry. Combustible heat source (2c) for a smoking article has barrier (6) affixed to an end face thereof. Thermally-activated adhesive (8b) is provided between the end face of combustible heat source (2c) and barrier (6). Moisture-activated adhesive (10b) may be provided between the end face of combustible heat source (2c) and thermally-activated adhesive (8b). Method of manufacturing combustible heat source (2c) having barrier (6) affixed to an end face thereof comprises steps of: providing thermally-activatable adhesive (8a) between the end face of combustible heat source (2b) and barrier (6), affixing barrier (6) to the end face of combustible heat source (2b) and heating combustible heat source (2b) with barrier (6) affixed to the end face thereof to activate thermally-activatable adhesive (8a).

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of the content of harmful smoke components that are formed as a result of combustion and pyrolytic degradation of tobacco in conventional cigarettes.
