FIELD: smoking accessories.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a smoking article containing a combustible heat source and an aerosol-forming substrate located downstream of the combustible heat source. Disclosed is smoking article (2, 32, 34, 36, 38, 42, 56) comprising: a combustible heat source (4, 40) with opposite front and rear surfaces; aerosol-forming substrate (6) located downstream of rear surface of combustible heat source (4, 40); outer wrapper (12) surrounding aerosol-forming substrate and at least rear portion of combustible heat source; and one or more airflow paths through which air can be drawn through smoking article (2, 32, 34, 36, 38, 42, 56) for user inhalation. Combustible heat source (4, 40) is isolated from one or more airflow paths so that when using air, drawn in through smoking article (2, 32, 34, 36, 38, 42, 56) along said one or more airflow paths, does not contact directly with combustible heat source (4, 40).

EFFECT: technical result is reduced effect of retraction of gaseous decomposition and combustion products formed from combustible heat source into main aerosol of smoking article.
