SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, specifically to austenitic stainless steel. Said steel contains following substances, wt%: from 16.00 to 30.00 chromium, from 8.00 to 27.00 nickel, not more than 7.00 molybdenum, from 0.40 to 0.70 nitrogen, from 1.0 to 4.00 manganese, less than 0.10 carbon, not more than 1.0 niobium, not more than 0.070 oxygen, not more than 2.00 silicon, iron and unavoidable impurities - balance. Ratio of manganese content to nitrogen content is 10.0 or less.
EFFECT: steel has high strength, ductility and viscosity, good weldability and resistance to general and local corrosion.
