FIELD: veterinary science.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary science, more specifically to veterinary oncology, and can be used for photodynamic therapy of malignant growths in animals. Invention provides a method for photodynamic therapy of malignant growth, involving combined use of photosensitizers, in accumulation thereof in malignant new growth for 180 minutes with subsequent activation with radiation of wavelength, corresponding to absorption wavelength of photosensitizers, selected wavelengths, characterized by that photosensitizers used are Photoditasine and Dimegin preparations, administered intravenously in an arbitrary sequence, selecting a dose for Photoditasine ranging from more than 1.5 mg/kg to not more than 2.5 mg/kg of body weight, and for Dimegina in range of 0.5 mg/kg…2.0 mg/kg of body weight, wherein accumulation time is additionally selected equal to 120 minutes…240 minutes, photosensitizers, accumulated in malignant new growth, are activated in a dose of radiation from 300 J to 800 J. Malignant growth is exposed to radiation, primarily, of a semiconductor radiator, at wavelengths, corresponding to absorption wavelengths photosensitizers within cancerous growth. For irradiation may be selected semiconductor lasers or super-luminescent light-emitting diodes with radiation band of not more than 20 nm.

EFFECT: use of invention increases efficiency of combined application photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy and improves therapeutic effect in treating tumours.
