FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thin-film transparent coatings of silicon dioxide on glass. Method comprises performing a sol-gel process of silicon tetraalkoxide in presence of additives in sol products of hydrolysis of metal alkoxides. Metal alkoxides used are alkoxides of aluminium, or titanium or zirconium. Metal alkoxide hydrolysis products are fed into silicon dioxide sol with concentration of 0.1–0.5 mol%. Glass coating is applied by dipping.

EFFECT: technical result is curing coating at low temperature, high strength of coating.
