FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thin-film 80–200 nm transparent coatings from silicon dioxide on articles made from silicate glass. Solution of technical problem: is carried out by sol-gel process of silicon tetraalkoxide in presence of additives to sol of polymers, copolymers, method of immersion is applied from sol coating on glass and heating the coated sample in an air atmosphere to harden the coating. Method is characterized by that polymers, copolymers are high-molecular compounds based on dimethylaminoethyl acrylate, diethylaminoethyl acrylate, dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate, diethylaminoethylmethacrylate and polymers, copolymers are introduced into silicon dioxide sol in optimum concentration of 0.01–0.5 (0.05–0.3 is better) wt. % of silicon dioxide.

EFFECT: technical problem is the development of a method of obtaining an economically effective coating which is curable on silicate glass at low temperatures of 60–90 °C for 0,5-1 hour and having high hardness on pencil 8H-9H.
